Effective June 30th 2018, the ALTAIR 4X Multigas Detector will be discontinued in both North and South America.  MSA will continue to support this product with replacement parts until June 30, 2021 or until critical components can no longer be sourced, whichever comes first.

In 2010, MSA introduced the ALTAIR 4X Multigas Detector with our revolutionary MSA XCell® sensors.  In the years since, the ALTAIR 4X enjoyed a premium position in the portable four-gas detector PPE category due to its unparalleled durability and compelling cost of ownership.

In March 2017, MSA launched the ALTAIR 4XR Multigas Detector, the next chapter in the exciting MSA four-gas family.  The ALTAIR 4XR was built upon the MSA portable gas detection durability and cost of ownership narrative with its four-year warranty, third-party certified IP68 ingress protection rating, MILSPEC drop-test protection, and Bluetooth® connectivity.

Although the ALTAIR 4X will be discontinued, the ALTAIR 4X Mining Multigas Detector will remain part of MSA's portable gas detection portfolio to support the North American mining market.  Thank you for your support during this transition period.  If you have any questions, please contact MSA Customer Service 1-800-672-2222.
